APHS Named 2015-16 Reward School by MDE

We are proud to announce that Allen Park High School has been named a 2015-16 Reward School by the Michigan Department of Education.  What is a Reward School?  Basically any school that did not receive a ‘red’ in an overall category on their scorecard AND has achieved one of the following: 1) top 5% in overall school ranking on the Top-to-Bottom list  2) top 5% of schools making the greatest gains in achievement (improvement)  3) “Beating the Odds” by outperforming the school’s predicted ranking and/or similar schools.

With a statewide percentile ranking of 86%, APHS was ranked first in its downriver peer group as the top-rated school in comparison to all other schools in the other 12 downriver school districts.  Furthermore, APHS was the 4th highest rated school in all of Wayne County.  APHS earned Michigan Reward School Status as being in the top 5% of schools across the state for improvement in student achievement.

We are so pleased with this recognition of APHS as this designation is a tribute to the hard work and dedication of staff, as well as the students who are making great academic gains.

While it is exciting to be named a Reward School, our work to ensure all students become responsible citizens of the 21st century does not end.  Allen Park Public School staff in all buildings work tirelessly to provide a high quality education for our students, and our students consistently rise to the challenges presented to them.  We will continue to work diligently to reach all students and prepare them for success in their path to career or college.  And, we thank you, our parents, for your continued support of APPS.

Congrats JAGS… you make us proud!
